MINSK, 25 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia are working to restart the production at the Stadler Minsk factory, Belarusian Transport and Communications Minister Aleksei Lyakhnovich said at a joint sitting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus on 25 September, BelTA has learned.
"Today, Belarus and Russia are working out an issue of launching SKD assembly of rolling stock at one of the country's enterprises or creating a joint venture to restart the production at Stadler Minsk. We are discussing this matter with Russia, two enterprises, large corporations," Aleksei Lyakhnovich said. Such decisions are on the agenda in the light of Western sanctions affecting the company's work.
Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Sivak also expressed his opinion on this matter. "I am sure we will continue to use the rolling stock made by this Belarusian company," he said.
