MINSK, 20 October (BelTA) – The 17th meeting of the Belarusian-Russian intergovernmental commission on military and technical cooperation is taking place in Baranovichi, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus.
Partaking in the meeting are members of the Belarusian and Russian parts of the commission, representatives of ministries, agencies and organizations of the two countries. “The commission plans to consider the implementation of the agreements reached at the previous sessions, discuss progress made in the implementation of planned events and outline ways to improve military and technical cooperation,” the press service noted. Special attention will be attached to the legal framework of the military and technical cooperation.
According to the State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus, the previous meeting that took place in Kazan in October 2015 produced positive results and contributed to further strengthening of business and scientific relations between the Defense Ministries of Belarus and Russia.
Chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus Sergei Gurulev and Director of Russia’s Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia Alexander Fomin are expected to sign the final protocol of the joint meeting on 20 October.
