MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Energy Minister Denis Moroz and Deputy Minister of Energy Pavel Snikkars of Russia had a working meeting on the common electricity market of the two countries, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry.
The parties discussed bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Union State program to develop the common electricity market, including an action plan to it. They also reviewed the progress in the coordination of the protocol on amendments and additions to the intergovernmental agreement on measures to ensure the parallel operation of the energy systems of the two countries.
Denis Moroz noted that the work on the common electricity market of the Union State should be interconnected with the work to set up the common gas market. "The gas market operation principles will largely determine the principles of the operation of the common electricity market. So we must consider these issues simultaneously," the deputy minister said.
Denis Moroz and Pavel Snikkars also visited the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant where they were briefed on the progress in the construction.
