Belarus, Romania discuss joint projects in mechanical engineering

MINSK, 16 December (BelTA) - Belarus and Romania are interested in implementing joint projects in various areas, including in mechanical engineering. The importance of such projects was highlighted during a meeting between Belarus’ Ambassador to Romania Andrei Grinkevich and Chairman of the Union of Bilateral Chambers of Commerce from Romania Nasty M. Vladoiu, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Bucharest.

Ambassador Andrei Grinkevich presented Belarus’ export potential and noted the high competitiveness in the Romanian market of a wide range of Belarusian products of chemical and wood processing industries, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, agricultural machinery, passenger transport, including electric vehicles, optical and electronic devices.

The parties discussed the issues of further development of Belarusian-Romanian cooperation, including joint projects in mechanical engineering, energy, metallurgy, agriculture, optics and precision engineering, information technology, woodworking, chemical industry, and professional higher education.

An agreement was reached to continue concrete work to promote further cooperation between the Belarusian and Romanian business circles through the chambers of commerce and industry of the two states, the diplomatic mission informed.

The Union of Bilateral Chambers of Commerce from Romania (UBCCR) was established in 1995 to promote the country's foreign trade through economic diplomacy. The UBCCR has established an institution of permanent trade representation which interacts with the Romanian Ministry of Economy, Energy and the Business Environment on the basis of public-private partnership.
