Belarus ready to survey for subsurface resources in Sudan

MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to survey for subsurface resources and develop field infrastructure in Sudan. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko made the relevant statement as he met with Sudanese Oil and Gas Minister Muhammad Zayid Awad on 27 April, BelTA has learned.

“We are ready to take part in surveying, exploration, and field infrastructure development for the subsurface resources that Sudan is so rich in,” noted Vladimir Semashko.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus underlined that Belarus is ready to cooperate with Sudan in any spheres and forms. “It can be simple trade, merchandise deliveries. Belarus is an industrially developed country. But we are ready for more advanced forms of cooperation, for instance, the establishment of joint ventures in Sudan. We virtually suggest assembling any kind of vehicles Sudan may need such as automobiles, buses, mining machines, agricultural machines, electronics, household appliances,” he explained.

Belarus sees no problems with the great geographical distance between the two countries. “Belarus is a country with an open economy. We should be active on foreign markets. We should be able to sell more than 65% of our GDP on foreign markets. And we manage to do just that,” assured the Deputy Prime Minister.

Vladimir Semashko said that the third session of the Belarusian-Sudanese commission that took place on 27 April and the meeting in the Belarus government would contribute to the advancement of trade, economic and other kinds of cooperation between the two countries. “We have rich experience of working in many countries across the globe starting with Venezuela and ending with China. I think our cooperation with your country will turn out to be fruitful,” said Vladimir Semashko.

“Sudan is rich in fertile lands. As far as agribusiness is concerned, Belarus has the entire range of machines for any climatic conditions. These vehicles may come in handy in Sudan,” believes the Deputy Prime Minister.

In turn, Muhammad Zayid Awad thanked the Belarusian side for the high level of organization of the Sudanese delegation’s reception and the organization of the third session of the Belarusian-Sudanese commission.
