MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to sign a cooperation roadmap with Yaroslavl Oblast, Belarus’ Industry Minister Aleksandr Rogozhnik said as he met with Yaroslavl Oblast Governor Mikhail Yevraev on 1 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the Industry Ministry.
“The International Industrial Fair Innoprom will be held in Yekaterinburg in July and Belarus will be a partner of this expo. We are ready to sign a cooperation roadmap with Yaroslavl Oblast on the sidelines of this major international expo,” Aleksandr Rogozhnik said.
According to the industry minister, the dynamics of bilateral trade are positive by and large, however there is still a lot of untapped potential in trade and economic cooperation. “Technological independence should become the basis of our interaction, it will help us move forward and develop our competencies,” he stressed.
Aleksandr Rogozhnik noted that the Industry Ministry of Belarus is ready to quickly respond to any cooperation proposals from Yaroslavl Oblast. Among the topical issues discussed were the supply of electric buses, autonomous trolleybuses, and the launch of joint production of trams.
The construction sector is another promising avenue of cooperation. “Belarus has successfully implemented a number of projects to build schools in Russian regions. We can run such projects in Yaroslavl Oblast,” the minister noted.
The parties also discussed cooperation prospects in agriculture and schemes to finance the delivery of Belarusian agricultural machinery to Yaroslavl Oblast. For the further negotiations, the industry minister of Belarus invited a Yaroslavl delegation to visit the Belagro 2023 international agricultural exhibition that will be held at the exhibition center of the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone on 6-11 June.
A joint meeting of the working group on cooperation was held at the end of the talks. Taking part in the meeting were representatives of industrial enterprises.
