MINSK, 7 October (BelTA) – Belarusian producers are ready to further increase supplies of dairy products and baby food to Zimbabwe, Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Anatoly Linevich said during a working meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Zimbabwe to Belarus Ignatius Graham Mudzimba to discuss trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
Supplies of food products and agricultural raw materials are an important area of economic cooperation between Belarus and Zimbabwe. In January-August 2024, the trade with Zimbabwe grew almost eightfold year-on-year.
"For the first time, 50 tonnes of powdered milk were supplied to Zimbabwe. We are ready to further increase supplies of dairy products and baby food. We are also interested in importing exotic fruits, avocados, citrus fruits, bilberries and semi-finished goods made of these raw materials, cut flowers. We have studied the interest of Belarusian retail chains in purchasing these products," Anatoly Linevich said.
Ambassador Ignatius Graham Mudzimba supported the proposals to promote trade and build cooperative ties between the countries.
