Belarus’ potential presented in Italy

MINSK, 4 May (BelTA) – Belarus’ potential was presented during the Belarusian-Italian economic forum in Milan on 3 May, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

Belarus’ potential and advantages of working in the country were presented during the forum’s plenary session. Representatives of the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE), the Italian national confederation of craftsmen, small and medium enterprises CNA, the financial society for promoting economic relations with Eastern Europe countries Finest S.p.A., and the Italian export credit agency SACE addressed participants of the forum.

Two panel sessions were held as part of the forum to discuss banking cooperation, investment cooperation, industrial cooperation, and territorial cooperation. Over 140 people attended the event.

Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Evgeny Shestakov met with Under-Secretary of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Benedetto Della Vedova. The sides discussed intermediate results of the agreements reached by the latest session of the Belarusian-Italian commission on trade and economic cooperation. Promising cooperation areas were sketched out.

Evgeny Shestakov also met with Finest S.p.A. Chairman Mauro Del Savio, President of the business confederation Confindustria Lombardia Alberto Ribolla. Prospects of advancing cooperation in spheres of mutual interest were discussed.

The forum on expanding cooperation opportunities was timed to the 25th anniversary since Belarus-Italy diplomatic relations were established. During the forum the Belarusian delegation was led by Evgeny Shestakov. The Italian delegation was headed by Benedetto Della Vedova.

The Belarusian delegation also included Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Italy Alexander Guryanov, representatives of the Belarusian National Center for Marketing and Price Study, the National Agency of Investment and Privatization, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Belagroprombank, SZAO Industrial Park Development Company (the company in charge of developing the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone), and representatives of the free economic zones Vitebsk, Brest, and Grodnoinvest.
