MINSK, 29 June (BelTA) – Belarus has held its first economic presentation in Portugal, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian embassy in France that is responsible for cooperation development with Portugal as well.
“Belarus’ economic presentation, the first one in the history of Belarus-Portugal cooperation, was held at Porto Business School that is among the top 50 business schools in the world. At the event Ambassador of Porto Business School Paulo Lucas announced the creation of the Belarusian-Portuguese business platform that will promote the exchange of information on the trade, economic and investment cooperation potential of the two countries,” the diplomatic mission added.
Belarus’ Ambassador to France with concurrent accreditation to Portugal Pavel Latushko presented Belarus’ vision of the trade and economic cooperation prospects with Portugal. Attending the presentation were representatives of the Department for Foreign Economic Activity of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Investment and Privatization Agency of Belarus who demonstrated export and investment cooperation prospects to Portuguese businessmen.
Dean of Porto Business School Ramon O'Callaghan stressed in his speech the importance of Belarus’ first trade and economic presentation and pointed to potential opportunities of cooperation with Portugal taking into account Belarus’ membership in the Eurasian Economic Union.
“The event resulted in an agreement of organize a visit of representatives of Porto Business School and Portuguese businessmen to Belarus in autumn 2016,” the embassy added.
Pavel Latushko also met with Porto Mayor Rui Moreira. “The parties agreed on the assistance of the authorities of the Portuguese region in the organization of a visit for Portuguese businessmen to Belarus, development of interregional cooperation in various spheres, including tourism,” the Belarusian embassy said.
According to the embassy, Porto Business School was founded by Portugal’s biggest companies. The school trains managers of Portuguese various companies. The presentation of the Belarusian business potential was organized by the Belarusian embassy in France, Porto Business School and Portuguese businessman Paulo Lucas. The event was attended by nearly 30 representatives of the Portuguese business circles.
