Belarus PM presents government quality excellence awards 2018

MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) – Belarus Prime Minister Sergei Rumas presented the government quality excellence awards 2018 in a ceremony on 24 April, BelTA has learned.

“The government quality excellence award is the highest national award which is presented to the companies for significant results in improving the quality of products and services, promoting modern management methods and innovative technologies,” Sergei Rumas noted.

According to him, the national economic policy aims to promote efficiency and quality, which is reflected in the growth of indicators of productivity, profitability, capital investment, export, import substitution. An important priority for the domestic industry is the advancement to new foreign markets and strengthening export capacity. The services sector is also a great contributor to economic growth, promotion of export and quality of life of citizens, innovative development of the country.

“Manufacture of high-tech goods competitive on foreign markets is impossible without the use of advanced technologies, new energy-efficient equipment, modern management methods, investments,” the Belarusian head of government said.

Sergei Rumas thanked the honorees for consistent promotion of quality in all lines of business, improvement of the economic situation in the country. “By your hard work, high social responsibility you stimulate partners to self-improvement, active work to promote quality, best practices and modern management mechanisms. All this, in turn, contributes to the sustainable development of Belarus, resource conservation and environment protection for present and future generations,” the prime minister added.

The head of government expressed confidence that the awardees would continue the innovative way of development. “Quality has always been the cornerstone of a strong economy of a country in general and every company in particular,” Sergei Rumas said.

Among the awardees are ten organizations: Brestgazoapparat, Karsky Gymnasium No.1 in Grodno, Brestzhilstroi, the design and technical center of the Belarusian Railways, BelAZ, MAPID, Turov Dairy, Savchenko Hospital No.4 in Minsk, Maxim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University, and Polesie State University.

Fifteen more organizations confirmed the status they received earlier. These are the University of Civil Protection of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry, Atlant, IBA IT Park, MAZ-Kupava, Energokomplekt, BMZ, Mozyr Oil Refinery, Molochny Mir dairy, Rechitsa Hardware Plant, Savushkin Product dairy, Torgmash, Granit, Milavitsa, Spartak, and the Kupala Grodno State University.

The winning companies have the right to use the award emblem on their products and also for commercial purposes.

Three organizations received special awards. BMZ celebrated the victory in the Leadership nomination. IBA IT Park was awarded in the Management Excellence nomination. Savushkin Product was hailed in the Social Responsibility nomination.

The awards ceremony included the presentation of Quality Leader award pins. Among those awarded were also winners of the competitions “Best Quality Manager”, “Best University Diploma and Research Work in Management and Quality Control”, and also the nationwide art contest for the best publication on quality and business excellence.
