MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) – Belarus plans to organize the delivery of BelAZ equipment to new mineral deposits in Egypt, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Egypt Sergei Rachkov said in an interview with BelTA.
“We have presented our potential to the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, governors of Port Said, Red Sea, and South Sinai. BelAZ dump trucks are successfully used in Asyut Governorate to extract raw materials for the production of cement, and we plan to organize the delivery of BelAZ equipment to the new mineral deposits in Egypt,” Ambassador Sergei Rachkov said.
According to the diplomat, the use of Belarus’ best practices in the geological survey and mining is a new cooperation avenue for Belarus and Egypt. Egypt has the deposits of oil, gas, gold, phosphate ore, tin, zinc, marble, quartz, limestone and is interested in the search for new mineral deposits.
“The Egyptian government plans to raise the production of minerals to replenish the country’s budget. The extraction of natural resources in the so-called Golden Triangle is a large-scale project. To fulfill these plans, Egypt needs investment, technologies, highly-qualified specialists, and modern equipment which can be provided by the Belarusian side,” he said.
