Belarus pavilion at VDNH reopens after renovations

Belarus pavilion at VDNH reopens after renovations

MOSCOW, 23 August (BelTA) – The Belarus pavilion was reopened after renovations at the All-Russian Exhibition Center VDNH in Moscow in an official ceremony on 23 August, BelTA has learned.

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko gave an instruction to overhaul the work of the pavilion in early summer at a meeting dedicated to advertising and exhibition activities. Now this instruction has been fulfilled: the pavilion has radically changed its format. Now it is a single-styled territory of Belarusian brands. Many of them are well known to Russians and enjoy well-deserved love: food, clothing, footwear, cosmetics, and much more.

The significance of the event was also emphasized by the ceremony participants: Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov, Russia Vice Prime Minister Aleksei Overchuk, Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairperson of the Belarusian light industry concern Bellegprom Tatiana Lugina, Deputy State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Aleksei Kubrin, and many others.

Nikolai Snopkov stressed that today’s event characterizes processes going on in the modern world. “The unity of Belarus and Russia in counteracting external threats and attacks is getting stronger. Secondly, it is recognition of the solidarity of the two countries – Russia and Belarus – in the joint development and construction of the effective Union State. Effective primarily from the economic point of view,” the official said.

In turn, the ambassador Dmitry Krutoi noted that the renovated pavilion is not a simple retail platform. “The best specimens of Belarusian products from the spheres that cater to people are represented here,” he assured.

The exposition features a broad range of products made by Belarusian food industry and light industry enterprises. Visitors can get familiar with Belarus’ tourism potential, opportunities for sanatorium and resort treatment, and high-tech medical aid. The renovated pavilion has become not simply a point of attraction for Moscow residents and guests but a business card of modern Belarus and a venue for establishing business communications and trade ties, and for organizing expos.

Without a doubt visitors will be particularly attracted to ecologically safe products from farmers located in the agrotown of Alexandria where the Belarusian head of state grew up.

The opening of a shop dedicated to selling the Belarus president’s merch was a special event. “We are glad to introduce Russian friends to the merch of the president of the Republic of Belarus,” First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov said during the opening ceremony.

A lot of other pleasant surprises were in store for guests of the Belarusian pavilion this day – fashion shows from Bellegprom enterprises and the National Beauty School, including a demonstration of apparel with the Belarus president’s merch, performances by artists of the Slavonic Culture Institute of the Russian State University and Honored Artist of Belarus Ruslan Alekhno.
