MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) – On 5 April, Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov held a number of meetings to discuss joint industrial projects and Belarus’ participation in the agricultural mechanization program of Nigeria as part of his visit to the African country, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Valentin Rybakov met with the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment of Nigeria. “The parties discussed the implementation of joint industrial projects, including the establishment of enterprises to assemble Belarusian vehicles, and agreed to organize a visit of a Nigerian business delegation to Belarus,” the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
On 5 April, Valentin Rybakov also held a meeting with the Permanent Secretary for the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. “Special attention was paid to Belarus’ participation in the large-scale program of mechanization of the agricultural sector of Nigeria,” the press service added.
The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a presentation of Belarus’ export potential. Apart from Belarusian government officials, attending the event were representatives of Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark), Gomselmash, Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark), dealers of other Belarusian enterprises, and Nigerian businessmen. The Vitebsk Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a memorandum of cooperation.
