Belarus, Nicaragua discuss economic cooperation

MINSK, 3 October (BelTA) - Practical aspects of cooperation were discussed at a meeting between Belarusian Industry Minister Aleksandr Rogozhnik and the official delegation of Nicaragua headed by Adviser to the President of Nicaragua on Investment, Trade and International Cooperation Laureano Facundo Ortega Murillo, BelTA learned from the press service of the Industry Ministry.

The talks were held in furtherance of the meeting of the Belarusian president with Nicaragua’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Denis Moncada Colindres in May of this year.

The Belarusian industry minister expressed satisfaction with the progressive  development of bilateral ties and expressed readiness to discuss further intensification of cooperation between the two countries.

Topical issues and prospects for bilateral trade and economic cooperation were considered during the meeting.

Advisor to the President of the Republic of Nicaragua on Investment, Trade and International Cooperation Laureano Facundo Ortega Murillo expressed his sincere gratitude to the Belarusian side for its readiness to cooperate with the Republic of Nicaragua and expressed interest in organizing a large shipment of vehicles for various needs (road construction, agricultural, passenger, etc.) and for large infrastructure, transport and logistics projects.

Aleksandr Rogozhnik assured the Nicaraguan side that the Industry Ministry will provide the necessary assistance in terms of the supply of vehicles to Nicaragua.

The parties stated that the successful implementation of the agreements will bring relations between Belarus and Nicaragua to a new, higher level of development.

The talks were attended by Deputy Industry Minister Dmitry Kharitonchik, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the largest enterprises of the Industry Ministry  from the Belarusian side, and representatives of relevant ministries from the Nicaraguan side.
