MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) – Belarus’ national exposition is presented at the 4th edition of China International Import Expo (CIIE, Shanghai), BelTA learned from the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The pavilion features domestic companies representing food industry and information technology, as well as ministries, healthcare facilities, research and R&D centers, and universities. They showcase products and services that may be of interest to China.

According to the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the stand of the Belarusian state food industry concern Belgospishcheprom is the largest at the national pavilion. It features 16 manufacturers of confectionery products, alcoholic beverages, fats and oils, beer, sugar and canned goods. The companies Baimen Biotechnology, Beltamozhservice, Ekzon are also on display at the national pavilion. A broad range of services is offered by the Education Ministry, including state universities, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and a number of research facilities and organizations, as well as the State Committee on Science and Technology.

According to the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the domestic companies are taking part in the CIIE 2021 online. Employees of the BelInterExpo enterprise of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry are deployed on the ground, so if Chinese visitors are interested in products or services of Belarusian enterprises, they bring the parties together via video link. This makes it possible to embark on full-fledged business negotiations at a convenient time agreed in advance.

In addition, a virtual 3D stand is available for online visitors through 10 November. The stand highlights the investment appeal of the country, its favorable business climate,  famous international companies having operations in Minsk and other cities, Belarus’ rich cultural heritage, the tourism sector and successes in sports. It also spotlights Belarus’ IT, agriculture, mechanical engineering and woodworking industry.

The exposition was arranged by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. BelInterExpo acts as an exhibition operator.

China International Import Expo has been held since 2017. In 2019, it brought together 3,800 companies from 180 countries. The total amount of contracts and letters of intent signed at the expo exceeded $70 billion. The expo is complemented by dozens of business events, like seminars, conferences, business forums. The CIIE opening ceremony is traditionally attended by heads of state and members of government of many countries.
