Belarus’ national expo opens at India International Trade Fair

MINSK, 14 November (BelTA) – Belarus’ national expo has been unveiled at India International Trade Fair (IITF), BelTA learned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The opening ceremony was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Belarus to India Vitaly Prima, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus Piotr Baltrukovich.

The national expo brings together more than 60 Belarusian companies representing engineering, petrochemistry, light and food industries, healthcare, science and education. The Belarusian exhibitors include well-known Belarusian brands such as BelAZ and MAZ automobile producers, Amkodor road-machinery company, Minsk bearing plant, Kommunarka and Spartak confectionaries, Minsk Kristall distillery and others. A large part of the exposition is devoted to the latest R&D developments.

The business program of Belarus’ national expo includes presentations of the enterprises-participants and their products, business matchmaking events and B2B negotiations. Besides, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India with the support of the Embassy of Belarus in India has organized the 10th meeting of the Belarus-India business cooperation.

India is also hosting the Days of Belarusian Science, the program of which includes a roundtable on promising areas of cooperation in science and innovations between Belarus and India, Belarusian-Indian workshop on cyber security and supercomputers.

The Belarusian delegation also had a meeting with Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Ashutosh Sharma to discuss the areas of further development of bilateral cooperation and to approve the list of promising research in 2017-2018.
