CHISINAU, 19 August (BelTA) – The Industry Ministry of Belarus and the Economy Ministry of Moldova will sign an agreement to launch a joint project to renew the bus fleet of Moldova. Buses will be assembled in the Chisinau Bus Depot using Belarusian component parts, BelTA learnt from the Economy Ministry of Moldova.
The agreement has been drafted to implement the memorandum on launching a joint project to renew the bus fleet of Moldova signed between the Industry Ministry of Belarus and the Economy Ministry of Moldova in Minsk on 16 July 2015. It is expected that the ministries of the two countries will monitor the implementation of the project. Under the project, the Chisinau Bus Depot will assemble buses using component parts of the Belarusian manufacture (MAZ). Chisinau is expected to assemble 120 buses in the next six years, with each costing €125,000.
The implementation of the project will promote trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Moldova and help address the public transport issue in Chisinau.
