Belarus, Moldova to intensify cooperation in agriculture

CHISINAU, 20 January (BelTA) – Representatives of Belarus and Moldova met in Chisinau to discuss the ways to intensify bilateral cooperation in agriculture, increase supplies of Belarusian mineral fertilizers and crop protecting agents as well as their registration in the country, BelTA learnt from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of Moldova.

The meeting in the Moldavian agrarian ministry was attended by representatives of the embassy, Belneftekhim Concern, BelOil Company and others. Moldova was represented at the meeting by the minister of agriculture and food industry, heads of departments subordinate to the ministry and other establishments.

The Belarusian delegation led by Chairman of Belneftekhim Concern Vitaly Pavlov is in Moldova on a working visit on 19-21 January. The delegation comprises representatives of OAO Naftan, OAO Mogilevkhimvolokno, Belarusian Oil Company, OAO Mozyr Refinery and Belorusneft.

A business meeting at the embassy on 19 January was attended by the Belarusian delegation and about 20 Moldavian companies engaged in the sale of oil products, liquefied gas, mineral fertilizers, and products of the petrochemical industry. The program of the visit also envisages the delegation’s meetings with representatives of the Economy Ministry, the Ministry of Agriculture and Processing Industry, visits to Moldavian companies operating in the petrochemical and fuel sector of Moldova. While in Moldova, the Belarusian delegation plans to discuss the issues related to the supplies of Belarusian fertilizers for the Moldavian agrarian sector as well as their possible deliveries to third countries through the port of Giurgiulesti.
