BURABAY, 28 May (BelTA) – Belarus and Moldova intend to recover mutual trade growth rate. The relevant agreement was reached during the meeting of Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov and Prime Minister of Moldova Chiril Gaburici on 28 May, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian head of government stressed: “Good trade and economic relations have existed between our countries for a long time. One can say that our trade is sufficiently balanced because our economies complement each other.” He stated that due to the recent events the situation in economies of the CIS states had worsened. He suggested thinking about ways to restore the mutual trade growth rate up to the levels seen in the best years during the current meeting and consequent meetings. “All the prerequisites for it are available,” stressed the Belarusian head of government.
In turn, Chiril Gaburici mentioned that relations with Belarus advance, including in the trade and economic sphere. He thanked his Belarusian counterpart for supporting Moldova in difficult times when the country was looking for new markets to sell its products.
The meeting of Andrei Kobyakov and Chiril Gaburici took place as part of the working visit of the Prime Minister of Belarus to Kazakhstan on 28-29 May. Sessions of the CIS Heads of Government Council and the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will take place in the town of Burabay on 29 May.
