MINSK, 29 March (BelTA) – Belarus may take part in the implementation of Ecuador’s national program on agricultural mechanization. The matter was discussed at a meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Ecuador Igor Poluyan and Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries of Ecuador Javier Ponce on 28 March, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties talked over the ways of attracting Belarusian specialists and producers of agricultural equipment for the implementation of the National Agricultural Mechanization Program of Ecuador.
The parties discussed the implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministries of Agriculture of the two countries, which was signed in Quito in 2014, the prospects for scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries in the fields of potato and vegetable production, as well as the possibility of training Ecuadorian students in agricultural universities of Belarus.
The head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission informed the Ecuadorian Minister about the high level of development of industry and agriculture in Belarus and the export potential of our country. Igor Poluyan reminded the Ecuadorian representative about the upcoming 26th International Exhibition Belagro 2016 that is due in Minsk on 7-11 June and invited the Ecuadorian party to take an active part in it.
