LONDON, 10 June (BelTA) – Belarus hopes to bolster ties with investors from the City of London, Belarus Prime Minister Sergei Rumas said as he met with Lord Mayor of the City of London Peter Estlin on 10 June, BelTA has learned.
“We have already made confident steps towards further development of cooperation with investors, residents of the City, especially in what concerns debt capital markets. Belarus hopes to broaden, with your help, the field of our cooperation, to further the relations and make them more systemic, ” Sergei Rumas said.
According to the prime minister, Belarus is an open economy. For the country full participation in the global economic processes is of crucial importance. “In this respect strong finance and business ties in the City of London is very important for us,” he stressed.
Sergei Rumas also invited Peter Estlin to visit Belarus.
The City of London is a financial district in Greater London. The City is considered one of the world’s business capitals. The City is home to over 250 foreign banks from more than 70 countries.
