MINSK, 6 March (BelTA) – Belarus and Lipetsk Oblast of Russia will sign a plan of activities to develop the bilateral cooperation for 2015, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Trade Ministry after the visit of a Lipetsk Oblast delegation to Belarus that finished on 5 March.

The sides discussed a number of issues regarding trade, economic, scientific, and technical cooperation, including the tender to purchase passenger transportation vehicles issued in Lipetsk in line with a project of the World Bank. “Belarusian manufacturers can participate in the tender,” the press service noted. Besides, the sides agreed to study the possibilities of implementing a project to build an aqua park in Lipetsk with the participation of Belarusian specialists and an extended use of Belarus-made tractors.

During the visit, the Russian delegation held meetings at the Belarusian State Agrarian Technical University, the Trade Promotion Office of the Russian Federation in Belarus, and the Belarusian Health Ministry. The press service of the Trade Ministry noted that a Belarusian delegation will pay a return visit in August 2015 after the celebrations of the Days of Field in Lipetsk Oblast.

The ministry said that in 2014 the trade between Belarus and Lipetsk Oblast amounted to $325.4 million. Today the region ranks 20th among Belarus’ main trade partners in the Russian Federation, when in 2012 it occupied the 27th position.
