MINSK, 10 April (BelTA) – Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko paid a working visit to Latvia on 10 April to take part in the Belarusian-Latvian political consultations, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Latvian delegation at the consultations was led by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrejs Pildegovics. The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the Belarusian-Latvian cooperation in the political, trade, economic, humanitarian and other areas, the prospects of expanding the legal framework, the development of relations between Belarus and the EU, matters concerning the Eastern Partnership initiative, and also cooperation in international organizations.
Oleg Kravchenko and Andrejs Pildegovics exchanged the protocol letters of the ministers of foreign affairs of Belarus and Latvia on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The Belarusian deputy minister of foreign affairs also visited the Latvian National Library and attended the ceremony to open a photo exhibition telling the story of the diplomatic relations between the two countries, the presentation of the Belarus Today photo exhibition, and a ceremony to donate the facsimile edition Francysk Skaryna’s Book Legacy to the Latvian National Library.
