Belarus, Kyrgyzstan discuss cooperation in agriculture, industryBISHKEK, 28 November (BelTA-Kabar) – The prospects of cooperation between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan in agriculture and industry were discussed at the meeting between Speaker of the Supreme Council of Kyrgyzstan Dastan Jumabekov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kyrgyzstan Andrei Strachko, the press service of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan informs.

The parties emphasized the need to intensify trade and economic cooperation between the countries, including in the Eurasian Economic Union, and also praised the activity of the Kyrgyzstan-Belarus intergovernmental commission.

Belarus attaches great importance to further development of relations and is ready to intensify ties in the full range of issues on the basis of mutually beneficial cooperation. “We are confident that the Supreme Council plays a key role in the matter and I would like to use this opportunity and give you a congratulatory message from the two speakers of our parliament, in which they also invite the parliamentary delegation led by you to pay an official visit to Belarus,” stressed the ambassador.

According to him, there is a need to launch direct flights. “This would help us develop cooperation in tourism, where the two countries have great potential. This would be beneficial for both Kyrgyzstan and Belarus,” said Andrei Strachko.

Dastan Jumabekov noted that inter-parliamentary relations play an important role in strengthening cooperation. "One of the goals of the Kyrgyz-Belarusian inter-parliamentary cooperation is to support legislatively the implementation of the agreements reached between the states at the bilateral and multilateral levels, for example, in the CIS, the CSTO, and the Eurasian Economic Union. It is important for us to continue the bilateral dialogue in order to revitalize trade and economic relations between the countries,” Dastan Jumabekov said.

The parties also emphasized the need for organizing the mutual days of culture and cinema, and also business forums.
