MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) - Belarus has joined the framework initiative on international trade and economic cooperation in the digital economy and green development published during the third high-level Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry.
The Chinese initiative consists of four parts: economic and trade cooperation in the digital sector, cooperation in green development, capacity building, implementation and development prospects. It is designed to help create an open and safe environment, simplify trade procedures, and overcome the digital divide, the Economy Ministry said.
35 countries participating in the initiative recognize digital and green transformation as two major trends of global economic and social transformation, as well as important drivers behind economic growth.
Given the strategic level of cooperation between Belarus and China, Belarus supported and joined the first group of participants in digital and green international economic and trade cooperation.
