MINSK, 22 June (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Alexander Surikov suggests big joint projects to Belarus in processing of agricultural products. The diplomat made the statement as he spoke at the 5th Belarusian People’s Congress on 22 June, BelTA has learned.
“We need to think about joining efforts (taking into account the untapped potential of Russia’s border oblasts) in order to develop big joint projects in agricultural processing. Here, Belarus can always count on Russia’s support. Russia has always supported the brotherly Belarusian people,” Alexander Surikov stressed.
According to the Ambassador, the two countries need to continue acting together to compete for foreign markets, proceed to a new level of cooperation while maintaining the years-long cooperation ties. Alexander Surikov also took note of considerable success in trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Russia. “Russia is the main consumer of Belarusian industrial products,” he noted.
According to the diplomat, military and technical cooperation is the key to security of the two brotherly nations and sovereignty of the two countries.
