MINSK, 26 December (BelTA) - Belarusian diplomats took part in the Belt and Road Economy and Trade Promotion Conference in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, BelTA learned from the Consulate General of Belarus in Shanghai.
Belarus' Consul General in Shanghai Andrei Andreyev made a presentation on Belarus’ investment opportunities during the conference organized by the administrations of Jiangsu Province and Changzhou city. The diplomat informed the Chinese business community about the innovations to improve the investment regime of the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone.
Consul General Andrei Andreyev and Consul Konstantin Golovko also met with the leadership of the Changzhou Municipal People's Government, the Office of External Relations and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Changzhou, Changzhou Science Park, Changzhou Xitaihu Institute for Frontier Technology of Cell Therapy, and representatives of the business community.
The diplomats visited large local companies producing automotive components and charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.
The parties outlined practical steps to build up cooperation between Belarus and Jiangsu Province in 2024 in trade, economy, science, manufacturing sector and medicine, to establish twin relations between Changzhou and one of the cities of Belarus. The parties also discussed the organization of a visit to Belarus by Chinese manufacturers of innovative industrial, electronic and medical products, and the establishment of direct interaction between the special economic zones of Changzhou and the Great Stone park.
Consideration was given to cooperation between Belarusian and Chinese medical facilities in transplant and cancer research.
