MINSK, 23 March (BelTA) – China’s Chengdu hosted a forum on trade and economic cooperation between China, Belarus, and the Belarus-China industrial park Great Stone, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Economy Ministry.
The event drew together about 120 companies from Sichuan Province, Shandong Province, Liaoning Province, Beijing, and other regions of China.
Belarusian Deputy Economy Minister Pavel Utyupin gave a presentation on the investment opprtunities of Belarus for businessmen from Sichuan Province.
The official also had a meeting with Yin Li, Governor of Sichuan Province, to discuss the current state and prospects of interregional cooperation with Sichuan Province, including the region’s ties with Gomel Oblast.
Pavel Utyupin also took part in another session of the board of directors and the annual general meeting of shareholders of Industrial Park Development Company. These meetings were held to review the company’s performance in 2017 and map out the plans for 2018, including those to construct the necessary infrastructure, attract investors, and improve the quality of services in the Great Stone industrial park.
The Belarusian delegation is also expected to visit Chengdu Economic and Technological Development Zone.
