Belarus introduces temporary ban on export of certain goods

MINSK, 24 March (BelTA) – The Council of Ministers’ Resolution No. 192 as of 21 March 2023 has introduced a temporary ban on the export of certain types of industrial goods. The document was officially published on the National Legal Internet Portal, BelTA informs.

The ban applies to gypsum, anhydrite, dental cements and other filling materials, bone cements, disinfectants, paints and varnishes based on synthetic polymers, modeling pastes, diagnostic or laboratory reagents on a substrate, filter elements (including hemodialysis membranes) for the healthcare industry, glass ampoules, glassware for laboratory, hygienic or pharmaceutical purposes. The list also includes compressed or liquefied gas containers, various boilers, engines, pumps, industrial or laboratory furnaces, as well as refrigerators, freezers, centrifuges, dishwashers, cars, vacuum cleaners, electric shavers, hair clippers, telephones, microphones. The document also applies to devices for lifting, moving, loading or unloading (for example, elevators, escalators, conveyors), bulldozers, tractors, machines for various purposes, weaving equipment and other tools, railway locomotives, railroad cars, cars, motorcycles, trailers and other items.

The ban does not apply to goods with a certificate confirming their Belarusian or Russian origin, goods with a certificate confirming own production and goods with a certificate confirming their compliance with the requirements for classifying them as manufactured in Belarus, issued by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The ban does not apply to goods with an extract from the Eurasian register and to a number of other cases that are laid out in the document.

The resolution came into force on 23 March and is valid for six months.
