MINSK, 25 January (BelTA) – Belarus is interested in implementing long-term investment projects with the Rosatom State Atomiс Energy Corporation, Belarus’ Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar said speaking at a strategic session of Rosatom dedicated to new areas of cooperation with Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry.
The participants of the session reviewed the status of the projects run by the Russian nuclear energy corporation in Belarus, as well as cooperation plans for 2024 and 2025-2026.
Yuri Chebotar spoke about the incentives for investors introduced by the legislative amendments. According to the economy minister, the roadmap for working with Russian investors approved in September 2023 has a separate guideline dedicated to running joint energy projects directly with Rosatom.
“Belarus is ready to join forces with Rosatom divisions to develop joint cooperation programs. The work on the comprehensive program of Russia-Belarus cooperation in the nuclear, non-energy and non-nuclear fields is on the home stretch. The list of joint projects is very big: from medicine, digitalization, and environmental protection to technological re-equipment of the manufacturing industry. In addition to that, work has begun on the development of additive technologies. We expect to continue launching new joint projects. We are interested in implementing long-term investment initiatives and are open to discussing them,” Yuri Chebotar emphasized.
