MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) - Belarus is set to increase the mutual trade with Chuvashia, Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said as he met with head of the Chuvash Republic Mikhail Ignatiev, BelTA has learned.
The head of government noted that for Belarus the Chuvash Republic is a long-standing and reliable partner, despite the fact that mutual trade is not that big. According to the Prime Minister, the parties have not yet realized the potential to the full. “I think that thanks to your visit we will bolster, first of all, trade and economic ties,” he said addressing the head of the Chuvash Republic.
Andrei Kobyakov voiced a number of potential areas where the parties can cooperate more effectively. In particular, this is mechanical engineering. “This, first of all, applies to agricultural, municipal and road-building machinery and equipment for manufacture and processing of food products. I think our machine-tool equipment will be interesting for you too. We are ready to supply the equipment and also to work on a cooperative basis,” the Prime Minister said
The Belarusian side is ready to offer a variety of financing options, including leasing, concessional lending, and other options.
Andrei Kobyakov also voiced a proposal on the possible cooperation between the Automotive Components Holding Company and machine-building enterprises of Chuvashia. There is great potential in cooperation in the agricultural sector, he said. "We are ready to participate in the design and construction of social infrastructure objects and industrial facilities. We have a good industry of construction and finishing materials,” said the Belarusian head of government.
The Prime Minister emphasized that this is not an exhaustive list of possible areas where the two parties could establish effective cooperation.
