MINSK, 26 February (BelTA) – In 2015 Belarus intends to double the export of electricity, Belarus Energy Minister Vladimir Potupchik told a press conference, BelTA has learned.
"If everything goes as we hope, we will export 1 billion kWh of electricity in 2015. In 2014 Belarus exported about 500 million kWh," the Minister said. This will be the first time Belarus will export such a big volume of electricity.
According to Vladimir Potupchik, now the power engineering industry is actively working on supply destinations. "Poland has shown a very great interest. Now we are working on purely technical problems regarding the supply of electricity to Poland," said the Minister. Ukraine has also shown interest in the purchase of electricity. "We are ready to supply electricity to the Ukrainian market," the Minister said.
