MINSK, 22 December (BelTA) – Belarus’ export of high-tech products is projected to total $15 billion in 2020, Chairman of the Belarusian State Committee on Science and Technology Aleksandr Shumilin told journalists on 22 December, BelTA has learned.
“This year the export of high-tech products is projected to total $15 billion, as in 2019, or even higher a little. It is difficult to access new markets with these products, but they are in demand, despite the pandemic, as it is difficult to find substitutes,” Aleksandr Shumilin said.
Belarus’ high-tech exports include radioelectronics, instrument engineering, mechanical engineering products and medicines, he said. The ICT sector is a great contributor to export. The demand for Belarusian intellectual property has been increasing. “We have already earned almost $100 million by selling patents. This is a milestone achievement, as patents are intellectual products,” Aleksandr Shumilin noted.
