MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) – As of 10 September, some 7,113,900 tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, was cropped in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
This included 6,131,800 tonnes of grain and leguminous crops and over 982,100 tonnes of rapeseed.
Harvesting of corn for grain is underway in Brest Oblast, Minsk Oblast and Gomel Oblast, with 2,190 hectares of land already cleared. Some 16,500 tonnes of grain was threshed, with the yield averaging 75 centners per hectare.
Some 5,081,100 tonnes of corn for silage were cropped so far.
In addition to that, 22,700 tonnes of buckwheat and 12,700 tonnes of millet were threshed.
The flax straw harvest exceeded 81,900 tonnes.
Cereal and legume straws were harvested from 76.7% of the area.
Belarusian agricultural workers are harvesting potatoes. Some 118,700 tonnes of potatoes were removed from fields. The yield is 360.1 centners per hectare.
Sugar beet harvesting is underway in Belarus. Some 226,000 tonnes of sugar beet were removed, with the yield averaging 442.2 centners per hectare.
