MINSK, 14 August (BelTA) - Belarusian agrarians have already cropped more than 5 million tonnes of grain, BelTA learnt from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 14 August, Belarus’ grain harvest exceeded 5 million tonnes. Brest Oblast harvested 1,131.6 tonnes, Minsk Oblast – 1,211.6 tonnes. Gomel Oblast and Grodno Oblast cropped 768,500 and 897,600 tonnes each. The harvest of Mogilev Oblast reached 654,900 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast – 407,900 tonnes.
A total of 1,407,500 hectares, or 64.8%, of areas under crops have been harvested in the country. As of today, Brest Oblast remains the leader: the region has cropped 91.7% of the total area.
This year, the average yield makes up 36 centners per hectare.
