MINSK, 8 August (BelTA) - Belarusian agrarians have cropped over 4 million tonnes of grain so far, BelTA learnt from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 8 August, Belarus harvested 1.46 million hectares planted to cereal and leguminous crops, which is 68.3% of the sown area. The country harvested more than 4 million tonnes of grain already, with the average yield of 27.5 centners per hectare. This year the harvest campaign kicked off earlier than in 2017. As of 8 August 2017, Belarusian agrarians cropped 2.794 million tonnes of grain.
Brest Oblast harvested 88.8% of the area, Grodno Oblast – 81.3%. Minsk Oblast harvested 74.8% of its areas, Gomel Oblast - 62.8%. Vitebsk Oblast and Mogilev Oblast cropped about 50% and 48.7% of the areas respectively.
