MINSK, 22 July (BelTA) – Over 3.2 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, has been harvested in Belarus, which includes over 2.3 million tonnes of cereals and leguminous crops and 897,000 tonnes of winter rapeseed, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
Gomel Oblast has finished harvesting winter rapeseed. The harvesting progress in the rest of the country is the following: Brest Oblast harvested 875,100 tonnes of grain (including rapeseed), Minsk Oblast 775,300 tonnes, Grodno Oblast 739,100 tonnes, Gomel Oblast 372,300 tonnes, Mogilev Oblast 295,500 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast 152,700 tonnes.
As to other crops, 64.6% of spring barley was harvested, 40% of winter rye, 22.7% of wheat, 19% of triticale, 15.6% of legumes, and 10.7 % of oats. All oblasts have completed harvesting winter barley.
Meanwhile, flax was pulled from 22,800 hectares, which is 50.9% of the area under this crop.
A total of 3.28 million tonnes of grass feed was harvested (33.4% of the plan).
Farmers are stepping up efforts to apply organic fertilizers. All in all, 11.6 million tonnes of fertilizers (88.9% of the target) were placed on the fields in the run-up to sowing winter crops, 1.97 million tonnes (15.1%) of fertilizers have already been applied.
