MINSK, 15 August (BelTA) – Belarus’ harvest has reached 5 million tonnes of grain, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of early 14 August, grain and leguminous crops (excluding maize, buckwheat and millet) were harvested from 61.5% of the planned area (1,317,000 hectares). Harvesting was completed on 89.8% of the area (310,700 hectares) in Brest Oblast, 43.7% (158,100 hectares) in Vitebsk Oblast, 67.7% (234,900 hectares) in Gomel Oblast, 54.5% (166,200 hectares) in Grodno Oblast, 60.8% (272,900 hectares) in Minsk Oblast, and 52.6% (174,800 hectares) in Mogilev Oblast.
Weather forecasters promise favorable weather for grain harvesting. Plans are place to finish harvest in Belarus from 20 to 25 August.
