MINSK, 16 July (BelTA) – Over 1.7 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, has been harvested in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 16 July, 1.718 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed) was harvested, which includes 1.174 million tonnes of cereals and leguminous crops and 544,000 tonnes of winter rapeseed.
The regional breakdown is the following: Brest Oblast harvested 460,300 tonnes, Minsk Oblast 417,500 tonnes, Grodno Oblast 361,000 tonnes, Gomel Oblast 250,000 tonnes, Mogilev Oblast 161,300 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast 68,000 tonnes. All oblasts, except for Vitebsk Oblast, have completed harvesting winter barley.
Meanwhile, flax was pulled from 13,900 hectares, which is 30.9% of the area under this crop.
Straw left after harvesting cereals and leguminous crops was removed from 59.3% of the designated area.
A total of 3.131 million tonnes of grass feed was harvested (31.9% of the plan).
Farmers are stepping up efforts to apply organic fertilizers. All in all, 11 million tonnes of fertilizers (87.3% of the target) were placed on the fields in the run-up to sowing winter crops, 1.77 million tonnes (14%) of fertilizers have already been applied.
