MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) – Belarus has harvested some 1,117,000 hectares of grain (except for maize, buckwheat and millet), which makes 51.7% of the cropping areas, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 1 August, Brest Oblast remained a leader with its harvest over 80% complete. Grodno Oblast harvested 60% of its areas, Gomel Oblast – over 53%.
Belarusian agrarians have so far harvested almost 3.6 million tonnes of grain.
The procurement order on grain is 815,000 tonnes this year. The order is 42.2% (344,000 tonnes) complete.
The country has harvested some 49.2% of areas planted to malt barley. The average yield is 35.2 centners per hectare.
