MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) – Belarus’ grain harvest, including rapeseed, has reached 7.7 million tonnes, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 27 September, some 7,708,400 tonnes of grain was cropped in Belarus. This included 6,668,600 tonnes of grain and leguminous crops and 1,039,700 tonnes of rapeseed.
Harvesting of corn for grain is underway in all the oblasts of the country, with 36,900 hectares of land already cleared. Some 285,500 tonnes of grain was threshed, with the yields averaging 77.3 centners per hectare.
Some 13,213,600 tonnes of corn for silage were cropped so far.
In addition to that, 46,000 tonnes of buckwheat (yields are 14.6 centners per hectare) and 18,900 tonnes of millet (yields reach 19.3 centners per hectare) were threshed.
The flax straw harvest exceeded 115,200 tonnes.
Belarusian agricultural workers have harvested some 412,600 tonnes of potatoes. The yields average 351.8 centners per hectare.
Sugar beet harvesting is underway in Belarus. Some 1,181,900 tonnes of sugar beet were removed, with the yields reaching up to 449.2 centners per hectare.
