MINSK, 10 February (BelTA) - The Council of Ministers approved the intergovernmental agreement between Belarus and Cuba on mutual recognition of documents on education, which was signed in Minsk on 18 November 2022. This is envisaged by government decree No. 112 of 8 February 2023, which has been officially published on the National Legal Internet Portal, BelTA has learned.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was instructed to send a notice that Belarus had completed the domestic procedures necessary for the entry of the agreement into force.
As BelTA reported earlier, the agreement was signed in Minsk in November 2022. The document was signed by Education Minister of Belarus Andrei Ivanets and Cuban Vice Minister of Higher Education Miriam Alpizar Santana.
The document provides for joint consultations on the implementation of the provisions of the agreement, notifying each other about changes in the education systems of the two states, the creation of new educational institutions, the exchange of names and samples of education documents issued in both countries, lists of accredited educational institutions. So far the universities of Belarus and Cuba have 10 direct contracts. The parties are confident that this is a good foundation for the further development of relations.
