MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) – In 2019 Belarus’ GDP grew by 1.2% over 2018, BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee of Belarus.
According to initial estimates, the country's GDP totaled Br132 billion in current prices, or 101.2% as against 2018 in comparable prices.
In 2019 the GDP deflator index made up 106.5% over 2018.
BelTA reported earlier that the Gross Domestic Product was expected to increase by 4% in 2019.
The GDP growth by 2.8% will be one of the key indicators of the government’s performance in 2020. The GDP is projected to expand by 0.7% in Q1 2020 over the same period of last year (1.6% in H1 2020, 2.2% in January-September 2020, and 2.8% in 2020 in general).
