MINSK, 2 August (BelTA) – The Forestry Ministry of Belarus increased its capital investment by more than 50% in the first half of 2018, BelTA learned from the press service of the ministry.
“Capital investment across the organizations of the Forestry Ministry amounted to Br88.3 million, which in comparable conditions is up 50% from to the same period last year,” the press service said. More than Br60 million out of the total were earmarked for machinery and equipment.
Technical re-equipment remains the main area for attracting investment in the industry. Its share in the total volume of capital investment makes Br39 million (44%). Investment in forestry production makes up more than Br23 million (26.5%), and investment in woodworking industries - Br10 million (11%).
Plans are in place to invest Br135 million in the forestry sector in 2018.
