MINSK, 10 November (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Finland Aleksei Samosuyev held talks with representatives of the Finnish Forest Industries Federation and Finland’s state corporation Vapo Group, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Finland.
"The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation, including the export of Belarusian forest products and fuel wood to the market of Finland and the region of Northern Europe, taking into account the criteria of the European Union,” said the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties agreed on further bilateral contacts to get the Finnish side familiar with the Belarusian logging and forest regeneration policy.
Belarus and Finland established diplomatic relations on 26 February 1992. Belarus opened its embassy in Helsinki on 5 December 2011. The opening of the embassy confirmed Belarus' interest in further expansion of constructive mutually beneficial cooperation with Finland.
