MINSK, 13 July (BelTA) – IT services account for nearly 95% of Belarus’ export of services to the U.S., Charge d’Affaires a.i. of Belarus in the United States Pavel Shidlovsky told the media on 13 July, BelTA has learned.
According to him, in 2016 Belarus exported $400 million worth of services to the U.S. The country plans to increase the number by 20%.
More and more Belarusian companies are entering the U.S. IT market, the diplomat said. “The general trend is that more companies are working on their own software rather that in outsourcing,” Pavel Shidlovsky stressed.
In 2017 Belarus’ hi-tech products were exhibited in Miami. The U.S. companies, business community, representatives of the region’s leading universities showed interest in promoting cooperation with Belarus in IT, in particular, Pavel Shidlovsky noted.
The positive momentum in Belarus’ export of goods has been emphasized, too. It grew 2.5 times up to nearly $80 million over the last five months.
