MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) – Belarus’ export of tourism services amounted to $180 million in 2022, Belarusian Deputy Sport and Tourism Minister Oleg Andreichik said at a press conference, BelTA has learned.
According to him, the flow of tourists to Belarus is increasing. "Last year, we hosted 4.8 million arrivals. More than 90% were travelers from Russia. The export of tourism services in 2022 amounted to $180 million. In the first quarter of this year, export rose by 30-40% year-on-year," Oleg Andreichik noted.
The number of visitors from Latvia, Lithuania and Poland traveling to Belarus under the visa-waiver program increases by 6-7%, he added.
"All in all, Belarus is developing more than 20 types of tourism, but the major one is sanatorium-resort recreation. Since the beginning of the year, the occupancy rate in our sanatoriums has been more than 90%. Now about 6,000 foreigners are holidaying in the health resorts of Belarus," Oleg Andreichik noted.
