MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) - In January-August 2021 Belarus’ export of merchandise and services rose by 32.2% year-on-year up to $30.4 billion, BelTA learned from the website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
In January-August 2021 Belarus’ foreign trade totaled $58.4827 billion, up by 30.6% year-on-year. Import amounted to $28.077 billion (up by 28.9%). Surplus of foreign trade in goods and services equaled $2.328 billion, up from $1.231 billion in January-August 2020.
Belarus’ merchandise trade expanded by 33.1% to reach $48.316 billion. Merchandise export went up by 36.2% to $23.87 billion, with merchandise import up by 30.2% to $24.446 billion. Merchandise trade deficit totaled $576.1 million. In January-August 2020 Belarus also had a deficit of $1.249 billion.
In January-August 2021 foreign trade in services reached $10.165 billion, up by 19.8% year-on-year. Export of services amounted to $6.535 billion (up by 19.2%), with import standing at $3.63 billion (up by 20.9%). Surplus of foreign trade in services equaled $2.904 billion, up from $2.48 billion in January-August 2020.
