Belarus' export at $4bn in January 2022

MINSK, 10 March (BelTA) – In January 2022, Belarus' export of merchandise and services rose by 31.5% year-on-year up to $4.029 billion, BelTA learned from the website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).

In January 2022 Belarus' foreign trade totaled $7.362 billion, up by 28.7% year-on-year. Import amounted to $3.333 billion (up by 25.6%). Surplus of foreign trade in goods and services equaled $695.9 million, up from $409.7 million in January 2021.

Belarus' merchandise trade expanded by 32.5% to reach $6.187 billion. Merchandise export went up by 36.1% to $3.251 billion, with merchandise import up by 28.8% to $2.936 billion. Merchandise trade deficit totaled $315.4 million. In January 2021 Belarus also had a deficit of $109.1 million.

In January 2022 foreign trade in services reached $1.174  billion, up by 12% year-on-year. Export of services amounted to $777.6 million (up by 15.2%), with import standing at $397.1 million (up by 6.1%). Surplus of foreign trade in services equaled $380.5 million, up from $300.6 million in January 2021.
