MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) – Belarus is busy expanding the export of meat products to China. Belarusian Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Vadim Shagoiko mentioned it during the 7th international forum Meaty Belarus, BelTA has learned.
Vadim Shagoiko said: “Belarusian meat products enjoy a very high demand on the world market. This is why we see a positive trend of rising export. In particular, export of meat products with a high profit margin, with a high added value is on the rise. In 2021 the share of such products in export was close to 17%. In 2022 the share rose to 20%. In January-February 2023 we increased the share of such products to 23%.”
The official added that the work to expand markets is constantly in progress. The main consumers are Russia and Asian countries now. On the whole, Belarusian meat products are exported to over 20 countries. According to Vadim Shagoiko, sanctions have changed logistics for some destinations but there are no critical problems.
“Apart from that, we are now expanding deliveries of meat products to China. We sell frozen beef, sausage products, and tinned meat to them,” Vadim Shagoiko summarized.
The 7th international forum Meaty Belarus is scheduled to take place in Minsk on 27-28 April. During the forum heads and senior specialists of meat-packing plants and poultry plants are expected to discuss the main market trends and the relevant tasks and opportunities with leading experts and executives of the meat industry. The current situation on meat markets and strategies of the future, export of meat products, packaging solutions, and know-how in meat marketing are high on the agenda of the international forum.
